We are Chris and Kristine Turnier, the owners of REEFer MADNESS. We have been involved in coral sales over the internet for about as long as there has been coral sales over the internet. You may remember our names associated with our former employer Flying Fish who was one of the oldest and largest internet companies in this industry.

We met Walt and his family four years ago while on our honeymoon in Fiji. Walt gave us a tour of his warehouse facility and explained his collection practices. We immediately developed a great respect for Walt and his environmentally safe practices. A year and a half ago, Chris had a wonderful opportunity to spend two weeks in Fiji as Walt's guest. Chris toured the collection sites getting to know the divers and warehouse employees. He also helped Walt's warehouse manager, Tim, with some fragging and collecting.

Chris Turnier received his Bachelor's Degree in Fisheries and has been working in the fish industry for the past nine years. He has a vast knowledge of almost every coral species and what its particular requirements must be. He is always willing to help with good advice, species identification and special orders. Kristine's attention to detail will make the whole transaction as efficient and convenient as possible.

We currently rent space inside Pacific Aqua Farms in Los Angeles. This arrangement allows us access to top quality corals and livestock on a daily basis. We are located just a few blocks from the Los Angeles Airport (LAX) and FedEx, which allows us to ship your corals in a timely, efficient manner. We are also excited that Walt has agreed to supply us in our new endeavor.

Who is Monty, anyway?

Every day someone asks us "Who is Monty?" Monty is the computer-generated character you see on every page of our website. His full name is Monty Pora (but prefers his nickname, Monty) and with his algae hair and Zoanthid-pattern shirt, he is a unique and interesting individual. His full-time job is our mascot here at Reefer Madness. Monty's hobbies include staring for hours at his 175 gallon reef tank, constantly rearranging and tinkering with the corals in his tank, adding new corals and animals on a weekly basis to his tank, day dreaming about the next larger tank he wants to set up, and spending countless hours on Reef Central doing research and chatting with his fellow reefers.

In his spare time he frequents reef-keeping chat rooms, local wholesalers and public aquariums searching for the woman of his dreams. However, he is finding it quite difficult to find a special lady who is just as interested in his hobby. But he knows the right woman is out there somewhere.
